Planning Your Wedding

For some, it’s a wedding on a resort beach with just your closest family and friends; flip flops in hand, sand in your toes, carefree and laid back, perhaps in a sundress.

For others, including myself it was always the fairytale.  A church ceremony with hundreds of guests all awaiting my arrival.  The wedding dress, ballroom style with a cathedral style veil trailing far behind me.  (more…)

Choosing the right Wedding Photographer

Photographers are online, in magazines and at trade-shows, but how do you know who will be right for you and your wedding day? First step: Book at least three meetings with photographers whose work you love. Once you get to the meeting, here are some essentials that you should be looking for:

  1. Are they listening?
It’s the key element to having great photos you will love for years. Ask what they think of your ideas, make sure they are taking notes, and find out what their policy is about requesting specific images and last minute ideas. If they are unwilling to budge or don’t seem to be following the entire conversation, it may be time to move on.
  2. Do I connect and feel comfortable with them?
This is the one vendor you will be working with before, during and after your event, so you need to love them! Yes, the art is the part you will take home, but the experience of the person is what will influence how you feel about your images. Do they make you feel relaxed or more stressed out? Do you feel that they will take care of you on your wedding day as well as afterward? Make sure to bring along (more…)
